Scott Snowden (a vegetarian since 1971) born and raised in Detroit Michigan began singing with his siblings Norman, Robert and Gregory (C 1960). Heavily influenced by Gospel music at the Church he attended (Ebenezer AME), he began his professional singing career in 1963 with his group then known as the "Highlighters" later known as the "Celebrities". Their first release on the Boss Record label was a tune called 'You Didin't Tell The Truth" (1964) written by Dennis Edwards of the "Temptations".

The Celebrities consisted of (the late) Thomas Pennington, Lloyd Robinson and Scott Snowden. Norman Dixon (his brother) and Michael Hemphill came aboard later. The Celebrities was managed by famed Detroit promoter Frank Brown and under the musical direction of Don Storball, the author of the hit song "Cool Jerk". In the past the Celebrities shared the stage with such artist as "The Impressions", "The Temptations", "Sir John Lee Hooker", "Stevie Wonder", "Little Milton", "The Miracles", "Johnny Mae Mathews", "Jimmy Reed" and many many more.

Also during this period Scott was a member of "The Young Peoples Choir" at Ebenezer and a member of his high school choir (Northern High). Later he was to become a member of the United States Navys famous "Blue Jackets Choir" and taped a CBS television special. On board the USS Willis A Lee, Scott was the featured vocalist with the ships band called "The Leesiders". After his Naval career he became a member of "LA City College Concert Choir" culminating with a special performance at the LA Music Center in downtown Los Angeles.

In 1967 Kitty Stevens (Ex-wife of Motown producer Mickey Stevens) arranged an audience with Marvin Gaye at Motown Studios on W. Grand Blvd. who said he was very impressed with the group. He noted that each member of the group could not only sing lead but also all of the harmony parts.

In 1970 Motown moved to Los Angeles and so did Scott. There he enrolled in the world renowned Sherman School Of Music and Arts and studied drama, dance (tap dance), performance evaluation etc., and was personally tutored by the famous broadway musical conductor Milton Greene. (Fiddler On The Roof, Annie, The Rothchilds), just to name a few.

Over the years Scott performed at night clubs coast to coast. Scott also regularly appeared as the radio man in the television series "Tour of Duty".

Scotts style of singing includes Country Western, R&B, Pop, Jazz and Classical. To this day Scott continues to share his magnificent voice with us. Scott Snowden is a singers singer.

P.S. Scott Snowden is the nephew of the ex-heavyweight boxing champion Joe Louis known as the "Brown Bomber". A True American Hero!
